Jacquelyn Oppler, LICSW
Jacquelyn Oppler is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University and recently received a graduate certificate in Forensic Criminology from the University of Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland with a major in Women’s Studies and a minor in Public and Community Health. Ms. Oppler is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and also practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive Therapies, and Harm Reduction models. She maintains membership in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Prior to joining F.R. Pride, Ms. Oppler worked in a range of settings including public schools, residential treatment facilities, youth homeless shelters, outpatient mental health providers, and the public defender’s office. She began her career as an outreach coordinator at the Lesbian Services Program of Whitman Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C., and has been working in underserved communities ever since. While working as a case manager in Los Angeles at a youth homeless shelter, she noticed the high rates of LGBTQ+ youth in her care, and the specific challenges those young people were facing in their daily lives. She has made it her life’s work to zealously advocate for those whose voices often go unheard and strives to empower others.
Ms. Damiano is a Candidate for a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Bridgewater State University.
