Our Impact

F.R. Pride has been incorporated since 2018 and have since increased the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in Greater Fall River. We have also developed a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth, their families and allies to find support and culturally competent resources.

1.

Why do LGBTQ+ youth need specialized care?

According to a recent report, approximately 48 percent of LGBT youth have considered suicide compared with 11 percent of the general population of young people. And, 25 percent actually attempted suicide. To read the report click here.

2.

What are the risk Factors?

LGBTQ+ youth at a greater risk of depression, anxiety, and developing negative coping skills as a direct result of social influences and intolerance. For example, LGBTQ+ youth face significantly higher rates of bullying in school as well as, increased exposure of homelessness due to, living in intolerant households.

3.
